CTEK BRINGS BATTERY CHARGING TO OFF-ROAD, OFF-GRID VEHICLES

Planning to head into the wilderness this summer? Are you going off-grid to unwind from the pressure of a busy working week? If so, you’ll want to ensure you can relax and enjoy necessities such as lights, music and personal electronics, which is where the CTEK 100A Off Road Power System comes in.
With overland adventures becoming ever more popular, CTEK – the leading innovator and provider of smart Battery Chargers and Maintainers – has created the 100A Off Road Power System – a bundle of high-tech chargers and monitors to simplify your electrical charging system and maximize the service potential of any dual battery system.
The bundle of CTEK charging components is designed to ensure that a vehicle’s batteries are kept in optimum condition when venturing off-road and off-grid, especially for extended periods. This way, you can keep the lights on after dark, maybe enjoy a movie, or sit back and listen to an undiscovered album without needing to worry if the vehicle will start in the morning.
The bundle includes a 20-amp CTEK D250S Dual charger and 80-amp Off Road SmartPass charger. This complete solution combines these powerful chargers with a system monitor that continually checks battery voltage and current. A digital display provides the current state of charge, together with the number of hours of power available at current usage rate to ensure users know how long it will take to charge or deplete the batteries. This way, you won’t be surprised by the lights suddenly going out, or risk being left stranded with a truck that won’t start.
CTEK D250S DUAL
Drawing its energy from the vehicle alternator, the CTEK D250S Dual “Charge While You Drive” Battery Charger delivers a safe, powerful 20A charge to the back-up leisure battery while the vehicle is on the move. It is also able to gather energy from multiple DC power sources – such as auxiliary generators, solar panels or wind power generators – to allow additional maintenance charging of both the leisure battery and engine starter battery when parked.
Whatever the power source, the CTEK D250S Dual will optimize the available power, stepping up the charging voltage delivered to the service battery in dual battery set ups by using its microprocessor-controlled smart charging algorithms.
The CTEK D250S DUAL Battery Charger reduces complexity in dual battery systems and increases reliability by eliminating the clutter of individual components such as battery switches, isolators, relays, load managers, low voltage alarms and cutoffs, plus separate solar and wind voltage controllers, etc.
CTEK SMARTPASS
For faster charging in situations where high-power devices are in use, or when driving shorter distances, CTEK SmartPass allows the system to deliver more power to the secondary battery, helping the user to control power consumption by isolating critical functions from non-critical power consumers. It is therefore possible to help ensure that items such as emergency lighting will remain in operation after secondary functions have shut down. It also senses battery temperature and protects your secondary battery from overheating and overcharging, which could sometimes be caused by inferior high-speed charging systems.
People who plan to spend extended periods off-grid can keep their service batteries charged with energy generated from the vehicle’s alternator as well as generators, solar panels and wind power. The CTEK SmartPass power management unit is able to prioritize energy use and flow, helping to ensure your service battery never becomes fully discharged, keeping enough in reserve to start the vehicle.
SYSTEM MONITOR
To inform the user about battery status, the System Monitor (which is also supplied with the CTEK 100A Off RoadPower System)keeps you in the loop by continually monitoring the service battery’s state of charge, voltage and amperage. It does this for electrical current both entering and leaving the battery. Furthermore, it has a “Time to Go” display, letting the user know when the battery will be fully charged or discharged at the current usage-rate.
Combining the D250S Dual DC-to-DC Battery Charger with the SmartPass control device and the digital display, the CTEK 100A Off Road Power Systembundle delivers the ultimate 12-volt “Charge While You Drive” DC power management system. The system will help to efficiently charge the secondary batteries to provide the ultimate in performance, power and extended battery life for all your electrical needs.
